Platform Provides Health and Wellness Content for Improved Shopper Journeys
ItemMaster, the product content and data technology leader for the CPG and retail industry, has been selected by Price Chopper and Market 32, a progressive supermarket chain with more than 130 stores in the Northeast, to serve as its Enhanced Content Provider. The ItemMaster solution, wellnessMaster™, will give shoppers of the customer-centric chain the ability to further customize their experience with transparent, correct and consistent product attributes including those related to health and wellness lifestyle factors.
In an effort to increase its focus on personalized service, transparency, and shopping by diet, Price Chopper/Market 32 will rely on ItemMaster to provide a complete omni-commerce solution for product information, regardless of whether the shopper is looking at a circular, shopping online or accessing information on their mobile device. The partnership is vital to accomplishing the brand’s established goals of providing consumers with accurate product data and images across all shopping channels, including national brands, fresh products, and its’ Own Brand, PICS by Price Chopper.
“At Price Chopper/Market 32, we want our customers to have access to the best product data and images to help them make informed decisions based upon their health and wellness interests. We plan to use the enriched product attributes to fuel consumer guidance programs,” said Scott Evans, SVP Sales & Merchandising. “ItemMaster has displayed in-house expertise in data-driven solutions, a passion for retail, and an ability to handle any product supplement gaps in our assortment.”
“Our solution will create a single source of product information, and its accurate data, enhanced product attributes and lifestyle-driven insights will help with Price Chopper/Market 32’s goal for innovation,” said Dev Ganesan, CEO and President of ItemMaster. “We not only onboard their content quickly and accurately, but our platform breaks down silos of information and we can identify gaps in the product content in order to provide the best possible experience when it comes to information and products that shoppers seek.”
Last year, 30 percent of U.S. consumers purchased goods online, and the trend toward eCommerce is expected to grow, challenging grocers to expand the availability of their e-offer to consumers. Approximately 47 percent of U.S. online shoppers rated high-quality product images as the most influential factor when purchasing a specific brand, making mobile apps and a strong social media presence a must.
